What this website does not do
This website sets no cookies. It does not use local storage or session storage. It contains no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or tracking pixels, no consent banner, no external maps, no embedded videos and no social media plug-ins.
Your choice of language is not stored anywhere. Every page exists as a separate address in German and English, and the language switch is a normal link.
Server log files
When you access this website, the web server of our hosting provider Hostinger automatically records data that your browser transmits: the IP address, the date and time of the request, the file requested, the referring page, the browser type and version, the operating system and the HTTP status code.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website, to ensure its stability and to detect misuse. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in the secure and reliable operation of the site. Retention period to be confirmed — it follows the settings at Hostinger.
Encryption
This website is delivered over an encrypted TLS connection (recognisable by https:// in the address bar). Content transmitted between your browser and the server cannot be read by third parties.
Fonts
The typefaces used (Archivo and IBM Plex Mono, both under the SIL Open Font License) are stored on our own server and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or any other external font service is established, and no data is transmitted to third parties when a page is displayed.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, we process the details you enter — name, company, email address, and optionally telephone number, type of enquiry and estimated volume — together with your message, in order to respond to your enquiry.
The form sends this information by email to our own mailbox at our hosting provider, over an encrypted SMTP connection. No external form service is involved. The data is not written to a database and is not stored on the web server. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract or its initiation, otherwise Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We keep the resulting correspondence for as long as it is required to process the matter and thereafter within the statutory retention periods.
The form contains a hidden field that is invisible to people and is only used to filter out automated submissions. No external captcha service is used, which means no data is transmitted to third parties for that purpose.
Contact by email and telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process the details you provide in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is the same as for the contact form.
Recipients of data
This website is hosted by Hostinger (Hostinger International Ltd.). The mailbox through which the contact form sends its messages is located there as well. Personal data — server log files and the content of contact enquiries — is therefore processed by Hostinger on our behalf as a processor.
No data is passed to any other recipient. There is no form service, no analytics provider and no advertising network involved.
To be confirmed: the data processing agreement with Hostinger under Article 28 GDPR and the server location selected for this account. Should that location lie outside the EU or the EEA, this section has to be supplemented with the information on third-country transfers required by Articles 44 et seq. GDPR.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we hold about you (Article 15 GDPR) and to have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16). You may request erasure (Article 17) or restriction of processing (Article 18), and you have the right to data portability (Article 20).
Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; for Hamburg this is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
